THE PROFANE MEMORY

Postmodernism has changed the linear understanding of time, triggering the creation of the contemporary subject whilst keeping in mind the past, present and future. This fact has had multiple repercussions, but one of the clearest is the obsession for a constant revision of the past, seen with the recent excess of histories and historiography. “The profane memory” seeks to compile all the themes related with this “obsession’’ with memory, which also means the need to prioritize –realigning, reinterpreting and resignifying- the quantity of data we have at our disposal.
