Giovanni Ozzola

Giovanni Ozzola - Nómade. Arte y pensamiento

Florence, Italy - 1982

After spending some years in London, he came back to Italy in 2001, where he began to build a personal artistic path that led him, in 2001, to participate in the exhibition “Happiness. A Survival Guide for Art and Life”, curated by David Elliott and Pier Luigi Tazzi, at Mori Art Museum of Tokyo

Since then, his attention has been focused on light as a necessary material for vision. In the center of his work he puts the interest for three dimensional space and light, and he has developed a research on mental image and the essence of subjects.

Giovanni Ozzola took already part in many exhibitions in Italy and abroad. We remind, among the others: CCCS - Centro di Cultura Contemporanea Strozzina (Florence); Mart (Rovereto); Chelsea Art Museum (New York); Sharjah Maraya Art Center (Dubai); Galleria Continua (San Gimignano / Beijing / Le Moulin); Palazzo delle Papesse (Siena); Man Museo d’Arte (Nuoro); Museo Pecci (Prato); Mori Museum (Tokyo); Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea (Trento); Waseda University (Tokyo); Centre d’Art Bastille (Grenoble); Schunck-Glaspaleis (Herleen); Künstlerhaus Palais Thurn und Taxis (Bregenz); GC.AC (Monfalcone); Viafarini Docva (Milano); Centro Arti Visive Pescheria (Pesaro).

Among his awards are the “Premio Terna” (2008), the “Talent Prize” (2010) and the “Premio Cairo” (2011)

He now lives and works between Prato and Paris.
